I loved the back and forth the characters would engage in. Every now and then when the tempers flared and the conversation raged, one of the characters would behave so on point that it earns an impressive laugh! Plenty of beautifully placed callbacks and actors that were impressively committed to large characters ( which I imagine, must be tiring to play) and never seemed to drop focus.
What I didn't like
The play is very wordy and often times finds humor in that chaos, but at times asks the audience to digest a large amount of words very quickly.
My overall impression
Relentless and thought-provoking. It challenges the audience to lean into the conversation topics that we’d never enter into even with our best friends. Thoroughly impressed and enjoyed the experience. Still don’t know if I’d bring any of this up at my next dinner party, but quite enjoyed the different voices crossing various lines labeled taboo.
