Terrific script – a quick-witted contemporary adaptation of Chekhov (with better pacing). Energetic and engaging cast! Big kuddos to all the ladies that lead the ensemble (Dionne, Dworkin, Chaudhry, Meyer), including the gender-bending “bro” (White). Nicely staged and directed too. Meyer as “Masha” is stellar!
What I didn't like
Script was great, but could be tightened. (Spoiler alert…) Felt the introduction of their “reality” TV show came in too late in the show – should have been the midway segue into ACT 2 and therefore pumped more comedic mileage (and energy) into the gray slump in the middle.
My overall impression
‘Keeping Up With the Prozonovs’ was totally fun, fabulous, wise and witty – a small theater experience with BIG theater promise!
