My overall impression
Jessica’s work in this piece, as both writer and actress, is spellbinding. Plays within plays unfold with utter ease, painting a uniquely cathartic portrait of a perfectly imperfect mind. From infuriating stories of schoolyard anxiety, to hilarious psychotherapeutic minutia, to deeply honest self-realizations and healings that left me outright bawling, this is a seemingly simple play that sets a sky-high bar for the proverbial “one woman show.” Wonderfully directed as well! Bravo!
