This is a beautifully told, vulnerable, powerful, funny, sweet story. I believe there’s something everyone can relate to, and most importantly, makes mental illness seem not as scary or isolating. ... full review

Gripping theatre and just overall great storytelling. Personal, fascinating, poignant, thought provoking. Not only does it cover mental illness and OCD/anxiety, it’s also about growing up and coming to terms with fear and the world as we know it. Also a wonderful arc, you experience the growth and realizations as the character does. Love, love, loved it. ... full review

I have to say that it was quite refreshing to see such an incredible display of honesty. I can't remember the last time I felt so thouroughly accepted through the voice of another. Beautiful acted and incredibly written. It's an experience I am glad I was able to share with such a wonderful crowd. Completely relateable and honest. ... full review

ANXIETY WRITEN performed and written by Jessica Carleton. Hollywood Fringe Festival. Selected for an Encore Performance We are taken on a journey. We see inside the mind and heart of a young teen. Sometimes going in blind is best, as an impromptu introduction to this writer and performer only amplified the surprising degree of accomplishment that followed. Slightly out of breath, this Gal casually approached us in the parking lot to explain that she's on next but as a result of her hectic schedule, 'fumbled promotion for her show, but she's got talent, moxie, 5 Emmy's to her credit and if we gave her a look-see and didn't like we can get our $10. bucks re-funded (does anyone actually do that?) but you won't be disappointed.' As one who can appreciate audaciousness, the offer was taken and boy were we not disappointed, instead being treated to a one-woman wonder. Recounting various chapters in her life story, Jessica Carelton ski... full review

Anxiety Written proves that one person and a wooden crate is more than enough to create an entertaining and emotionally moving experience, as well as a lasting impression. I was skeptical when Jessica approached us outside the theatre and asked if we were interested in seeing her show—she seemed almost distraught that she had failed to promote it properly—but we had no other plans for the evening and the ticket price was right, so we stuck around. I did not expect to be whipped through maze of emotions and involuntary reactions in an hour but Anxiety Written delivers in the most beautiful way possible. After experiencing the show, it hardly seems surprising that Jessica Carleton is an award-winning writer; with nothing more than a black wood... full review
