Incredibly well done--it was a wonderful, intimate performance. Coyle puts a positive spin on what could have been to others a most difficult upbringing. I loved all the references to the past...... full review

After a 90 minute deep dive into this woman’s life, I was left wanting more. More story, more music, more Laura. You will too! If you have an opportunity to see this show do yourself a favor and go. ... full review

What a beautiful piece of work, pun intended! Laura Coyle throws her life on the stage often to compelling, heartfelt, and enjoyable effect. Coiled with her original songs, transcending each theme and message, the audience explores the relationships of this artist’s life, and learns important lessons that make us all inherently human. ... full review

Loved It! Profoundly moving and hilarious, Laura Coyle's one woman show,"A PIECE OF WORK," is a fun, entertaining autobiographical journey that celebrates all the quirks, eccentricities, and challenges that can make life so difficult -- yet so fascinating. Beautifully written and performed, this tour-de-force is a must see.... full review

I had heard some buzz about this show but I was surprised by how much further it went than a typical one woman show. This may have something to do with how atypical Laura Coyle’s upbringing was, but it was also the wide variety of emotional notes she hits. You laugh out loud and get choked up in quick succession. The glorious cherry on this sundae, though, was the notes she hit as she pulled out her series of guitars (4!) and sang songs she’d written throughout these events. Her voice is a miracle and the songs are moving and rockin’. See it!! (I’ll probably go again to be honest.)... full review

One-woman shows require such a range of talent, intrigue, and stamina and Laura certainly delivered. She thoughtfully and yet seemingly effortlessly spun a deeply personal narrative between songs. The music was honest and haunting. Laura took us on a journey of relatable self-doubt, self-discovery, and self-love, with a humor and gut wrenching clarity. Understanding her song-writing journey had me hanging on her every lyric. She plays beautifully and has a gorgeous voice, but what was most beautiful about this performance was her complete vulnerability on stage. I walked away feeling like Laura let me know her - and somehow myself, a bit better. ... full review

Laura Coyle's story was thoroughly entertaining from the moment she began until the last note. The show was poignant, funny, and provocative. The audience was skillfully brought into the world that is Laura and we really got a sense of what it was like in that Connecticut house where she grew up. Stories of hope, disillusionment, mental illness, sexuality, love, and betrayal were artfully shared without ever bleeding into self-indulgence. Coyle and the show's director Mari Weiss triumphed and I'm sure somewhere in the multiverse, Laura's parents are proud of their wonderfully talented daughter. ... full review
