Michele Pedersen’s excellent and surprising comedic timing kicks off the show and lights up the stage every time she is on stage. Tamara Burgess is a firecracker of animalistic and eager energy, presenting us with a hopeful and intelligent love interest, coming to a head in a powerful, heartbreaking scene. All characters brought a satisfying presence to the show.
What I didn't like
Some moments I wish could settle more, but I believe this is due to the time constraints of reducing a full play for the festival. In the future, a more dynamic set would increase freedom for the actors, instead of the only station to do something was the “bar” area. However, the most was made with what was available and the direction included movement to keep the play from stagnating.
My overall impression
Female-powered storytelling presenting sincere, thoughtful questions of the power dynamics within women’s diverse kinds of relationships. Excellent casting and collaboration.
