The writing was really good. The play unfolded nicely and gradually revealed the layers of each character. Production design was cleverly done. For a Fringe show that has a quick load in and load out, they came up with some excellent solutions for how to set the scene quickly and use the audience’s imagination to fill in the rest.
On top of that it was a good story. I was engaged the whole time.
What I didn't like
There were a few moments that had a bigger emotional impact in the writing than was seen onstage. These were in the B storylines. The main storyline came through well and was acted well.
My overall impression
What a sweet show! It has a lot of heart to it and a lot of fun. Plenty of fun references for D&D players, but it won’t leave you lost if you’re not familiar with the game.
