What I liked

The simplicity of the staging allows the story and performances to take absolute control of the attention. A highly effective staffing of a very thought provoking piece that engages every corner of our humanity.

What I didn't like

One of the costumes suggests a much higher social standing than the character seems to represent, it’s out of period as well. There is an opening sequence of that dress being put on that isn’t well sorted by the exposition as well. A better parallel could be drawn, initially, between the economic status of both characters.

My overall impression

If you’re looking for a really fantastic Fringe show to catch, I highly recommend Echoes. Catherine Lidstone is absolutely brilliant and the piece itself speaks to the roots of problems that have plagued humanity since time immemorial. If you’re a feminist, a humanist, or simply have a mind thirsty for things worthy of question and reflection, this is a great show to see.
