What I liked

A Star Vehicle that showcases an ingratiating and talented local actor.

What I didn't like

Seemed lengthy, considering that the solo central character doesn’t become likable for quite awhile.

My overall impression

Producer Michael Blaha has brought another Edinburgh Fringe success to LA, a solo show more conventional in style than ECHOES but also a compelling star vehicle, also recast with a local LA actor, EVAN McNAMARA, who commands the stage from the moment the lights go up. Anyone who can do a 58-minute monologue gets my attention, and my respect. Evan himself is more ingratiating than the British character he plays, but as the layers of the story are peeled back one year in one hour he becomes A Guy With a Heart of Gold that isn’t at first apparent. This script seems like an ideal monologue for an acting class since it is obviously a series of segments which can be edited or abridged, though that mighty not meet with the approval of the author.
