The show was fun! I enjoyed the intimacy of the small theater that put me closer to the action. The show was heavily based on the video game "Until Dawn", to which you'll very apparently see the connections if you've ever played the game. It's almost like a live version of the game, but with an altered story and game-inspired characters.
Both the best and worst thing about the story comes down to the decision making portions. Making the decisions was fun... seeing how poorly many of the audience members chose was... not fun. There were several times throughout the show that seemed like most of the audience simply wanted characters to die. I mean, I can't tell if the audience genuinely wanted to see characters die or if they really thought...

Witty, entertaining, and adorable detail-attentive tribute to b-horror-flick acting, plot, and playfulness. Loved subtleties like the audience experience actually begins the moment you walk up to the box office and are handed a beautifully overwritten two page waver warning of gore, shocks, and emotional discomfort, to put you in a place of fear-tickled anticipation of dramatic risks about to be taken, along with a questionnaire that brings up a light edge of vulnerability by having you instagram about your own fight and flight tendencies, all before you even walk inside. And then the professor states quite clearly we are all part of a serious social Study, which with the light-hearted balance of death and humor is easily forgotten -- reveal...

BEST WAY TO SPEND A FRIDAY NIGHT! It’s absolutely hilarious...not sure if that’s what they intended, but I was laughing the entire time. It’s super interactive, engaging, and exciting! I was sitting with someone who’s afraid of horror shows and he was freaking out so that was definitely part of the fun. They allowed the audience to be interactive and comment throughout which honestly added to the experience. Clever, at times creepy, and always entertaining, I HIGHLY recommend this show!!! ...

I am going to try and not spoil too much but...Wow! MB Stage continues to successfully push the boundaries of what we know as a "regular" theatre experience. Every show of theirs is always more innovative than the one before. The Study is no different. I am first only talking about the concept because if someone were to tell you this idea, you might say it would be impossible to pull off. Not for David and Jared. I am always amazed by how well they create these interactive and immersive productions. The Study kept me on the edge of my seat, always wondering what would OR could happen next. I second guessed every decision I made and I also had some "oh." moments when I saw how I voted for each situation the characters were put in. I left the ...

Such a fun show to experience! The format of the show is very unique with the quick decisions the audience has to make in the moment that affect the story. I laughed, I got scared, and I had a really fun time!...

A raucous and thrilling evening for fans of immersive theater, and especially appealing to horror genre enthusiasts. THE STUDY delivers on gore, fright, but most importantly, entertainment. Part of the fun is there's a new outcome every night...and it definitely makes you want to go multiple times. If that's not an achievement, I don't know what is! ...

This show was extremely taxing and very dull. Things were noticeably going wrong the entire show to the point the audience was groaning on a regular basis.
The writing was schlocky (“did you guys hear about the disappearances?”), but despite that there were a few stand out performances. The cannibal wife was particularly chilling.
Despite having a good amount of queer characters, the play found a way to be weirdly homophobic. It was upsetting. Particularly the jock who was weirdly homophobic to only one gay guy despite being friends with two gay guys everyone knows are closeted. And even after the very obvious reveal of being gay himself he STILL calls the guy “fruitloop”. It was alienating and offputting.
Every single character a...
