What I liked

Wonderful tackling of so many important topics- the way new questions many of us have probably never considered were raised- the way I don’t even have an opinion on who/what is right at the end of the day- sometimes things are terrible and they need to be talked about- this is why we need theatre.

I hope people don’t miss this show because of the subject matter sounding too scary- lean in, guys- we need to remember that we go to the theatre to feel stuff and to get in touch with our humanity.

What I didn't like

It was complete and lovely, but I just wanted it to go on longer because it was great.

My overall impression

This is how you do theatre, guys. This script is layered and brilliant- I was just complaining an hour before the show to another fringer about how theatre isn’t just spitting out an event with some dialogue- this show proved me right and reminded me what is possible – the slow reveal of information is flawless and artful. I felt safe in the hands of the writer, director and cast immediately- I knew I was watching something wonderfully made from the very first scene.

Whoever is giving an award for best actress needs to check out the leading lady in this show- I was blown away. The two male actors were excellent and worthy scene partners.

Funny enough I noticed another reviewer commented on the set- I was thinking for a moment about 1- this show is wonderfully portable, which is great because I hope it travels the world- and 2- It would also be AMAZING to see it at a big high-budget theatre- For the festival, it has made wonderful use of a well-chosen space.

The Lounge’s larger space is one of my favorites, but man those folding chairs are the worst- hugest apologies for myself and my 6’5 friend who was with me as we were places in those seats, probably obscuring the view of those behind us and struggling not to keep our feet rudely on the front of the stage because of back problems and lack of space :/ Pro tip for theatregoers- get there earlier so you don’t have to be those people, and if possible opt for the second row because the first built in row gets folding chairs put in front in the event of overselling- the show was beyond sold out and I suspect a sold out run.
