Review by RUSSELL EATON

What I liked

Well directed and sharply written, this play never goes for cheap shocks. Instead, the perfect cast manages to dance through some tricky conversations that build in intensity until violence is seemingly the natural outcome. The violence is surprising and disturbingly realistic when it comes.

What I didn't like

Nothing, I found this one of the strongest pieces I have seen at this year’s Fringe.

My overall impression

Hard hitting drama is a tricky genre, but when done well it can be thrilling. Man Is Wolf achieves that level of impact. A fascinating play, incredibly acted with subtlety and intensity. Sometimes touching, sometimes disturbing, this is a fine piece of theater worth seeing. It is a drama that explores difficult subject matter and the unfolding of events is consistently surprising and unsettling.
