Delved deeply into what makes a cult tick and how people get caught up in them, without being one sided. Suggested Manson had a charming or even nurturing side, which must have been true or he would not have had so many followers. The songs brought real emotional depth and differentiated the characters beautifully. And the ensemble songs were moving and memorable anthems.
What I didn't like
Someday I hope to see a version with better sound so I can hear all the details I missed tonight. And a longer run time allowing the actors to stretch out their speeches would be much appreciated.
My overall impression
An astonishing accomplishment, better than I could ever have imagined. I could have watched another hour of it. Thoughtful, tuneful and by turns horrifying and hilarious. The cast was superb and the band top notch. Deserves a life beyond Fringe!
