What I liked

The music itself was spectacular, the performers were incredible and 100% committed, the story is funny and allows each character to shine. The lead singer has to be seen- he’s going places. I couldn’t stop giggling because the defendant’s lawyer is SO GOOD- just perfection in his role. I felt like I saw a metal concert in an intimate venue… for only $13. AKA too good to be true!

What I didn't like

It’s a metal show- so it’s LOUD! I passed on the earplugs before getting into my seat, and then when I asked the waiter to get some for me, he had no clue what I was talking about. Oh well! BYOEP! Also, a logistical note for the venue: Rather than flashing your confirmation email on your phone to enter the venue (once inside the bar), they checked each person off a list one-by-one… took a long time and seemed like half-baked plan based on the frustrated energy of the list-checkers and the fringe patrons.

My overall impression

This show is satirical political metal musical and completely genius. It’s the silver lining we’ve been waiting for since Trump was elected. Side effects of seeing The People VS. Hell Kross include spontaneous WOOP WOOP WOOPing, losing your voice (see first point) and/or hearing, forming momentary crushes on metal rock gods, a judge and a slimy lawyer for putting their soul into their art and their art into the world aka Hollywood Fringe Fest! 🤘
