A great way of showing how differently a person can be perceived. What ppl see on the outside vs. who you are on the inside…what you project vs. who you really are…who you think you are vs. what others think you are.
What I didn't like
While the opening act was an interesting piece and provided some variety (major props to Taylor Shell for performing “A Vaginal Tragedy”), it did make the show feel a bit long.
My overall impression
This play is an excellent display of Ty Pickett’s talent as an actor and a writer. He seamlessly portrays 5 different and unique characters throughout the play: The Freudian “Dr.” and 4 gay characters, who at first are introduced as typical stereotypes, but once the layers are peeled off to reveal what lies underneath, the audience gets to witness some very real and heart-wrenching moments. That paired with the excellent light/sound design makes for a heck of a ride.
Bravo!
