What I liked
Olivia Buntaine is a budding, visionary director with a unique sense of style and an eye for beautiful stage pictures. Her ability to tell stories through the precise arrangements and blocking of her large company of actors is masterful. Not to mention her capacity to handle a dated text and make it accessible to every single person in the audience. Buntaine is supported by a cast of strong actors, all of whom have obviously had experience working with classical text. A particular stand out performance is given by Taylor Jackson Ross, who plays Hecuba with an unshakable strength and presence. Even if classical theater is not your thing, it is definitely worth making the trip over to the Lounge Theater to catch this one-of-a-kind production. I highly recommenced it.
What I didn't like
This is totally out of their control, but the walls of the theater are very thin and at times allow for sounds from the streets to disrupt poignant moments.
My overall impression
A fabulous, modern spin on Trojan Women, with dynamic direction and powerhouse acting.
