A fantastic cast gives a nuanced and moving performance of this classic play. With subtle idiosyncrasies that make this version its own unique beast while staying true to the source material, Venable and cast put on a production that feels fresh but never too arrogant to think complete reinvention is required to perform compelling Shakespeare. ...

Amazing production with a stellar cast. This 90-min production is alive at every second. It moves you with the story and you never think you are watching a play, you feel like you are living it. Daniel Dorr as Romeo is a force. Always present, charismatic and you can feel his pain chillingly in your own bones. The rest of the cast is so talented you don't want to take your eyes off them. A definite must see and hopefully on a bigger stage near you very soon. ...

I fully emerged into R and J's world, no props, no period costumes needed. ...

It was a particularly attractive cast with Daniel Door as Romeo passionately impersonating Romeo. The fact that he is movie-start good-looking helped a lot to make this famous love story very believable. A feast for the eyes and ears all around....

Although I'd seen other performances of the play and seen all the movies, I felt as though I was seeing Romeo and Juliet for the first time. Excellent execution of a raw and stripped down telling of a complex tragedy. ...

Enthusiastically attacked by a cast that is clearly relishing the more melodramatic and comedic sides of this tale, this version is a welcome interpretation. Their energy makes the classic story feel fresh even if you know exactly what the plot holds. ...
