What I liked
Sam Shaber is a talented woman with a fascinating tale to tell. Her charm and enthusiasm pull us in. This show genuinely moved me. Her use of visuals perfectly accentuates the stories she shares. The songs are emotional and heartfelt.
What I didn't like
I would love to spend more time with this storytelling machine. The show could be expanded easily. Perfect for the Fringe format, but I would gladly see a longer show and I would love to hear this woman backed by a full band!
My overall impression
With a beautiful, charismatic presence, Sam Shaber leads us through the journey of someone looking for themselves, and finding out they can be so much more than they expected. Personal reflection and observation take on a universal feeling that feels like a warm hug when you need it most. Sam Shaber does have some sad tales to tell, but that’s not the point… her winning personality and upbeat outlook on life is truly inspirational. One of my favorite shows this year!
