What I liked

Everything about the show from a production standpoint was fantastic, from the geeky slideshow of dentists, dental hygienists and lawyers to the little amp with a British flag to the slip of a mylar curtain to Sam’s unique personal style with pink hair, boots and an open heart motif black tee shirt dress. Her storytelling and songs are very moving and fun. Lynn Ferguson’s direction was spot on. The timeline of years from her childhood and teens gives a great shape to the story. But the best thing about Life Death and Duran, Duran is Sam Shaber. Her spirit shines in this very personal story.

What I didn't like

It was a perfect evening at the Fringe. I feel lucky to have seen this should-be-star in such an intimate venue. Someone give this woman a lot of money to keep telling her stories and singing her songs!

My overall impression

Sam has the unique gift of making you feel like you’re her best friend. This was such a well thought out story, full of emotion and great songs. I feel so privileged to know her better having seen the show.
