What I liked
I thought the timing and intensity of the production really moved. Seamless transitions and music keep the pacing fast. It did not feel like 90 minutes.
What I didn't like
An epilogue would be nice.
My overall impression
I believe that Salve Regina is a very unique coming out story where the usual tropes of “it gets better” collide with divine intervention. If you are LatinX, gay, raised devout Catholic, then this production is for you. If you are none of those things, I say go. This story is important for allies to hear as we all had friends that danced to the beat of their own drum in search of passion and salvation on 12" maxi singles. Javier’s journey is a triumph and celebration. It should not be missed.
