Theatre was cool, the movie was edited together really well that had an emotional impact. Use of varying mediums made it all very interesting and texturally pleasing. Songs were dope, especially liked ‘Spaceman’ and ‘Scavenger’.
What I didn't like
We saw an abbreviated version of the show because the Festival scheduled another performance that would interfere with the run time of the show I PURCHASED TICKETS FOR. This is ludicrous on the Festival’s part. Completely unfair to force a director to come up with a shortened version of their art in order to fit more pieces of a puzzle together. Lost some significant respect for the festival and empathized with the director immensely.
My overall impression
Show was cool! Super unique concept: movie plus music plus theatre, we enjoyed very much! However, the Festival forced the director to come up with a shortened version to accommodate a show coming in after him, which I thought was APPALLING. Folks had purchased tickets but didn’t get to see the entire show, and then the idea of making an artist change his work actually blew my mind. Lost some serious respect for the Festival and empathized with the director immensely.
