What I liked

The #metoo subject matter is on trend as it always should have been bringing more and much needed awareness and conversation to an occurrance that is far too often shunned and silenced. Triumphant life and hope are given to traumatic life experience(s) many of us have experienced through Kamakshi’s tale of consciousness, unconsciousness, and down right desire to overcome and thrive. Kamakshi is a force for self love, compassion and empathy. On a lighter note she is skilled in regional accents! It was a pleasure to meet her many influencers.

What I didn't like

It all worked for me. I’d say the workshop offered after June 9th performance will be welcome by those who attend as the content definitely provokes an internal stirring and opportunity to grow!

My overall impression

Kamakshi has lived, written and performed her tale in a soul baring vulnerable weaving that left Cozy, my very nearly sixteen year old, and I inspired to not only throw our arms around one another (& Kamakshi) but talk through real life #metoo matters from a place of compassion and empathy for the far too many survivors healing from such traumas including my own as well as Cozy’s strength in spirit and voice to handle sh*t should/when it arises with the help and support of her tribe. Kamakshi radiated her spirit and heart into her audience leaving us stirred up with so many thoughts, feelings and emotions that her offering of a one hour workshop following her June 9th performance is something we desired and encourage viewers to attend given the chance! Should you get the opportunity to see it, take it! June 9th at noon, June 23rd at 2pm @ the Lounge Theater 6201 Santa Monica Blvd. #hff18
