What I liked

It is not an easy thing to be vulnerable on stage before an audience, and these men take it a step further by being vulnerable as themselves. These aren’t characters written for dramatic effect; these are real people, real stories, and real bravery on display.

What I didn't like

I agree with a prior review that a broader scope of perspective (i.e. women, LGBTQ community, greater age range) might have added to the show’s lessons, but that is not at all to say it didn’t work as-is. This show was fantastic.

My overall impression

A deeply profound, emotionally raw, and, at times, uncomfortably honest examination of mental health and the struggles faced by those it impacts, “Taming of the Shamed” will leave you in tears. Whether those tears are of laughter, of sympathy, or of personal pain will be entirely dependent on your personal experiences, and that is largely why it’s such a great show.
