What I liked
Both as a writer and a performer, Rob brings his past to life in a way that’s always fully engaging, appealing and emotionally accessible.
What I didn't like
The piece could be even longer and mine some darker places as it explores his shifting relationship to his family and his guru.
My overall impression
Rob has crafted a wonderful performance piece that dramatizes the unique humor and pain of his unusual upbringing in such an honest way it transcends the specifics to become a truly universal story about identity and becoming your own person.
