The effectiveness and range of the single actor, and the exploration of childhood innocence and its fragility.
What I didn't like
Overall the performance felt as though it may have been condensed; this seemed even more likely based on the way we were rushed out of the theater afterwards. I am sure there is more to this story.
My overall impression
Black When I Was A Boy is a powerful and moving account that deftly moves from poignant to hilarious to hopeful.
