What I liked

I liked the balance of being informative and entertaining. The subject of homelessness in this country is important and this piece gave it a loud, real, and respectful voice. I liked how bold and present the actress was, even as she shifted in and out of several characters. I liked the minimal staging which in itself was ironic to the lives that were being portrayed. I like the message and the spirit of the piece. I was impressed overall with the humor, the candor, the physicality, and most of all, the honest in which the story was told. Bravo!

What I didn't like

In all honesty I thought you could shave 10 to 15 minutes off the time. That’s it!

My overall impression

I am a theater snob, I can only enjoy well written and beautifully performed pieces on stage, and this show did not disappoint! I felt like I was back in New York watching greats like Anna Deavere Smith, Phylicia Rashad, or S. Epatha Merkerson. This was well developed, rehearsed, and executed with great courage, wisdom, and pride. The multifaceted-characters were real and honest. And the actress was both vulnerable and strong when needed. I left feeling like I robbed them of a higher ticket price!
