What I liked
Watching Yokko’s incredible Butoh work under gorgeous lights and to an impressive soundscape. The beauty in the grotesque was extraordinary to behold.
What I didn't like
I vastly preferred the movement elements of the show to the language portions, both live and cued, which I found unnecessary and pulled me out. However, impressively, Yokko was always able to pull me right back in and make me as invested as ever.
My overall impression
An arresting and captivating performance by Yokko whose intensity and control pulls you in. It is a gift to watch her move.
