What I liked
I thought the director did a wonderful job in creating very specific locations and guided Star in her morphing in and out of characters very well. I loved the dance at the end it was unexpected. Maybe it could have been woven into the show a little more. It’s a choice.
What I didn't like
Not much. The only suggestion would be to shave off a few minutes just to tighten it up a bit.
My overall impression
#metoo is a very powerful piece. Star’s command of the different characters, how she morphed in and out of the characters, was terrific. It is, in my mind, the biggest challenge of solo shows with multiple characters and she handled it beautifully. The collaboration between Star and her director was impressive. The director has a really good eye and made very good use of the space.
My absolute favorite part was the dance at the end. It was totally unexpected (I didn’t notice the program listing of the choreographer until after!) and just beautiful.
