I liked the humor of David Garelik. I liked the use of the dead body, and the actor’s juxtaposition to it, as if the soul got up from the body. I liked the simple set design, focusing more on the story and monologue than the elaborate setting.
What I didn't like
None I can think of.
My overall impression
I really enjoyed David Garelik in Greg Lavoi’s play “I Died Today”. Garelik’s performance and Lavoi’s storyline was reminiscent of a young Leonardo DiCaprio in “Basketball Diaries”. The wisdom of a young-old soul, taking the mirror of his life and reflecting back to us – the audience – warmed the heart, and reminded me about what theater is; speaking from the heart.
