The staging and performance and design were all at a high level of quality. But the content is what raises this production above most others. It presents an ugly, tragic and unfortunately real aspect of humanity and does not shy away from leaving the main character in a hopeless state at the end. Because the final mood is one of despair, I am still thinking about it a day after the show, thinking about the horrors of human trafficking, of the evil of human beings enslaving others… These are not happy thoughts but necessary ones and I’m glad people are making art like this.
What I didn't like
there was a photographer in the front row incessantly snapping pictures and the sound was distracting. Maybe she could use a quieter camera next time?
