What I liked

I enjoyed Vageena’s performance as well as her father and mother’s. You’re given hundred dollar bills to throw at a stripper on stage which makes you part of the action.

What I didn't like

Tech light cues when not on point, many times during the show Vageena is in the shadows and the spotlight is on the wrong side of the stage. The script seemed to be improvised at times and the supporting roles undeveloped. I wish I had seen more of her father/son relationship more in depth and the reasons why Vageena was picked on by her father in order to make their reunion at the end of the show more authentic and relatable.

My overall impression

Vageena Honey makes an honest attempt at holding it all together. A drag queen goes on a talk show to tell her story about surviving an abusive father, bullies and teachers in high school and a narcissistic sugar daddy as the audience becomes the audience within the audience; I felt I was part of an awkward Björk video for the entire show, wondering why I was there for in the first place.
