I like the script, the eerie set up with that fluorescent flickering light so typical of horror movies and the blackout followed by the flashlight pointed at the audience which makes everybody jumpy. Final Preparations is not a cheap spoof with cheap thrills which makes the audience feel uneasy. The suspense is all too real.
What I didn't like
The ending. Not going to spoil it here but I was left wanting to know more about the character and his past and what drives him mad.
My overall impression
An interesting premise with a few creepy moments that had me at the edge of my seat, Final Preparations had me thinking about Six Feet Under mixed with Blair Witch Project where what you don’t see is scarier than the reveal.
