What makes Debrianna’s autobiographical show so compelling is the warm spirit behind her storytelling, her many savory references to meals and recipes she grew up with, and the vivid and colorful way in which she recounts her memories of social adventures and family escapades. I especially enjoyed how she sometimes relates moments in her life to classic films she admires, such as Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, which is my own favorite movie, and also David Lynch’s Eraserhead which is in my list of top ten fave films as well.
What I didn't like
Honestly, I think it’s a terrific show and I can’t think of any ways to make it better.
My overall impression
The Meatball Chronicles is an engaging and entertaining one-woman show starring actress Debrianna Mansini, known for her work in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and many other television and film productions. This production is a wonderful journey through her own life, accompanied by a skillfully assembled collection of pictures and film footage.
