I loved how Ms. Mansini, through sharing about recipes, food, and family, made sense of her life. The stories of her mother were sensitively and humorously told, though scathing about her as a mother. Somehow Debriana found herself as she dated and healed through sharing the only family love she knew- handmade Italian meals. A deeply healing experience.
What I didn't like
FANTASTICPERFORMANCE.
Change nothing!
My overall impression
Courageous one woman show.
Debriana Mansini brings home this beautifully written autobiographical play. I found Ms.Mansini reminded me at times of Mary Steenbergen, and when sharing her grandmother of Sofia Loren. Her performance had me laughing throughout, crying at the end with recognition and delight.
GO see this play!!
