What I liked

Location, location, location. Their use of Hollywood is spectacular and is the definition of a location becoming a character. There were more serendipitous encounters, events and sights during my show than I could count. From the billboards and storefronts, colorful people, to the sky itself. It couldn’t have been used better.

What I didn't like

If anything, just making it clear that you will be walking a lot during this show. Some people may have difficulty if they wear uncomfortable shoes or have mobility issues.

My overall impression

The Stars is a once in a lifetime show. Everything has come together for Ceaseless Fun with this piece. Writing, performance, and location all meld into a mind bending, urgent, fun experience. It deconstructs our notions of identity and fame and even what it means to be alive in the time of social media and the internet.

The Stars left me mentally drained in a good way. At a point, I felt a profound sense of hopelessness, and from there, was brought all the way back to a yearning to strive to be a better person and that beauty and life are just around the next corner. Yet The Stars was never self important, challenging yes, but it left me laughing a lot of the time. It’s fun and funny, and isn’t afraid to laugh at itself either.

There are more thoughts and surprises packed into two minutes of this show than a hundred other plays combined.
