What I liked
The theme about it being okay to fail was really great, especially with the ensemble number at the end. Standouts for me were the wonderful vocals, the music, and the very entertaining ensemble. It was an afternoon of infectious fun!
What I didn't like
The tech could be improved (lighting cues etc) but I saw it for the preview, so I’m assuming that will be fixed swiftly anyway. No criticism in terms of performances, music, or dialogue.
My overall impression
Very charming, witty piece with funny characters (especially Ms. Montgomery’s Mr. Putnam) and great music! The lyrics were clever, the melodies were catchy and well sung. I especially loved that Hagopian stuck with the old time-y compositions of the ’30s (such as the Andrews sisters style female numbers) but also managed to keep it modern and light.
