What I liked

All the things. Thank you for this great show- it was a privilege to watch.

What I didn't like

This question feels so irrelevant – unlike the show, which was relevant and funny and poignant.

My overall impression

In case you didn’t realize it, this year at Fringe, you have the opportunity to watch a polished but still spontaneous live HBO comedy special disguised as a late night 2 man show.

I recommend you catch these guys in this tiny studio theatre before you have to shell out serious cash to see them In some giant expensive venue cause I’d be incredibly surprised if they spent much more time in such humble accommodations. It was an absolute treat to watch this show – I laughed my face off – BIG loud belly laughs the whole time – and I also teared up more than almost any of the other 20+ Fringe shows I’ve seen in these first 2 weeks.

I was sitting next to a friend, and after the show, we remarked to each other immediately that this made us appreciate men in such a visceral way. I will personally say that as a woman doing a fringe show about trauma, especially having just had a performance yesterday, that this show was like a much-needed drink of water in a desert of semi-well-meaning aspartame-poisoned beverages. That was a weird metaphor, but I’m keeping it. Joe and Josh take on many topics but the most impactful to me was their perspectives in issues related to women – they handle sensitive subjects with a strong and skillful grasp – While this is not an “educational” show in a traditional way, the candid, human look into these two men and their lives and hearts and minds is breathtaking- It’s vulnerable AF, it’s refreshingly self-aware – it’s so nice to be able to trust the Writer-performers – and you know immediately in this show that you’re in good hands- the writing is solid and it’s not gentle – it intelligently dives into some very real topics, pushes boundaries, and does so with great skill. It’s loud and in your face- the show seamlessly flows between hilarious, goofy (but poignant) raps into more serious moments, taking audiences on a thrill ride of emotions. I am seeing a million fringe shows – producing 3….2 of which I’m in and still trying to figure out if i can make it back for another round! Don’t miss this!

Impeccable performances. Skillful direction. This show better win something. Thank you, guys.
