Blackbird

What I liked

Blackbird is a favorite of mine since I saw it on Broadway. I was reluctant to see this production but I noticed that Charlotte was playing Una (I had seen her brilliant work in Stupid Fu*king Bird) and decided to go. Im so glad I did. Charlotte was awesome. She is a force on stage and with such a dynamic character to portray, she really committed and shared herself with this intimate audiance. Bradley was great too- real bravery and gorgeous vulnerability from both.

What I didn't like

The staging and lighting seemed forced at times when the story of these two were enough. I understand some of the blocking and light changes were supposed to amplify dramatic moments but it didn’t land for me.

My overall impression

Great show, beautiful acting. Be brave and sit in the front row :)
