The kids becoming their younger selves and how tightly those transitions were written
The Bus song and then the reprise that made it extra fun
The star/glory days medley – beautiful
The catchy melodies
The general concept was legit out of this world

My overall impression
I can’t wait to see this again- I know this was closing night, but I’m hoping this isn’t all we get to see and hear from The Edge Of The Universe- this show s the ultimate dose of nostalgia brought to life with a fresh and well thought out idea.
The cast’s energy was infectious- great vocals from Miss Frizzle in particular. The songs were not only smart but clever especially in their reprises. When the kids came back as 3rd graders I about jumped out of my seat with excitement and I might’ve been tearing up at the end.
Even though the show is billed as a “parody” and technically falls into that category it isn’t campy – it’s a full fledged original musical based on a solid concept – I look forward to seeing Elias Rubin’s name as it becomes a standard in the musical theatre world cause he is going places. This young writer is just getting started and I’m a fan.
