Dark Phase is a 70-minute play by Shahin Chandrasoma. It will be directed in its world premiere by Matthew Leutwyler, and will be presented in two acts with a short intermission.
A spacecraft is hurtling through the frictionless vacuum of space towards Jupiter. On board are two astronauts, a veteran pilot and a young scientist. In a story that spans years, their relationship begins, grows, shifts, and changes as they face the physiological and psychological challenges of isolation and confined space.
A measured and intimate science-fiction narrative, Dark Phase seeks to investigate the emotions, drives, and needs that render us all-too-human.
