What I liked
The songs and the patter were great. And Richard, ever surprising, performed on book as if he were the piano player at our favorite joint and we in the audience felt like we were there hanging out with friends, or new friends. Richard is exceptional at handling stuff that happens during a live show, like when the mic fell over right into him while he was singing, and when he’d turned two pages of music instead of one. A consummate pro who makes the audience feel at ease and who has a great time doing his thing.
What I didn't like
The only way it could have been better is if they had served drinks.
My overall impression
What a fantastic evening. Funny and even moving songs from Richard’s bar travels around the world and across the land. His stories of how and where he came up with the songs were worth the price of admission alone.
