What I liked
There are too many stand out performances to list them all, just go see the show for your self. But a few notables include Catt Chiristine’s modern “torch” song which was spellbinding, Amanda Hootman’s on the nose fun leaning-into it number, and Reagan Osborne’s inner conflict expressed through his early “duets” (details deliberately left out to preserve your discovery). And countless others.
What I didn't like
Although much of the wonderful character work was spotlighted via lighting to draw attention to it, not all were, and there were so many little moments happening that I am sure I missed some. And the closest I can come to an actual criticism that I have of the show is that I would love to see even more character development some how.
My overall impression
Musically marvelous, environmentally exquisite, with sublime spectacle throughout. More than that the the character moments, and hints at narrative sprinkled hither and yon let you get to know these characters a little more than you would have were it a more straightforward cabaret.
