My overall impression

This is one of the best shows of the Fringe. The Harmony Boys completely captures the spirit of the crooner 50s with fantastic modern day subtext. Considering I started laughing at the program, the show gets off on the right foot and stay there throughout. The cast is top notch and inhabit their roles perfectly (extra shoutout to the casting director who found the Harmony children).

The show moves along at a great pace backed by a tight band and the word that came most to mind was “polished”. This is a fantastic piece of theatre that moves along due to fantastic direction and choreography, adept acting and has a professionalism which is rare at the Fringe. The book, lyrics and score are fantastic and well crafted.

Whatever small rough patches there are are quickly smoothed over by the next great bit which is helped by the actors full commitment to their roles (even post show!).

Wherever the Harmony Boys go, I will follow!
