What I liked
The period stylings were done very well — loved the costumes. I also really enjoyed all of the music and song selections. Even songs that were purely for humor were very well sung and executed. Made me laugh and smile a lot.
What I didn't like
For me, there are some things that will never be funny (namely date rape and miscarriage), so I did not enjoy those moments. I understand that it’s meant to be poking fun at the extreme right, but ultimately, the majority of the jokes were still made at the expense of women and people of color and so I didn’t love that.
My overall impression
Overall, it was a highly amusing and entertaining night out. And as a lover of Christmas, I particularly enjoyed that slant on things. There were a couple of moments that pushed things too far for my taste, but on the whole, it was a lot of fun.
