What I liked
I loved the beauty, energy, vulnerability and charisma of the character! Joanne Hartstone had me invested in our protagonist, Miss Edwards from the get-go. The singing and acting were magical and had all eyes glued on her, traveling along the ups and downs of this one woman’s journey. One of the most magical elements is that while you are on one woman’s journey – it is also a story about so many other people! She embodies the stories of others so convincingly and portrays authentic relationships/interactions – even as a single actor on stage. I loved the research and authenticity put into the piece which transports you back to old Hollywood. The simplicity of the set and the impact and power of the lighting made it all the more powerful and special.
