What I liked

The content was crisply edited and moved from strong acting to emotional singing effortlessly.

What I didn't like

I thought everything about this show was flawless, but if there was a minor thing that could be improved it would be the lighting: sometimes the colored lights seemed to obscure the solo performer, or not catch her in the right location, so she was acting a haze of pink or purple light, for no real reason. That happened just a few times, but seemed odd when it occurred.

My overall impression

Wonderful Hollywood storytelling that is based on true facts and told with excellent acting, earnest emotion, and captivating singing. What a fantastic import to the Hollywood Fringe Festival, all the way from Adelaide, Australia. Sometimes Fringe shows are hit-or-miss but this show had surprising depth and feeling and was tightly edited for simplicity and maximum impact – it was all “hit!” Fantastic!
