What I liked
I enjoyed everything about it. I found the characters of her mother and Pepe to be especially engaging. Also I really liked the portrayal of her Dad – she made him as distant as he was to her but, at the same time, so loving and connected. I loved how she brought Cuba to life, while at the same time, bringing to life what it means to grow up as a first generation American and to re-define oneself in America as an immigrant.
Also, this particular show had technical difficulties and I was so impressed with how professionally Nairoby handled it. She was calm, she was collected and she picked right back up where she started once the tech was back on. It really was a lesson to me in how to handle the unexpected in live theatre. Congrats!
What I didn't like
I wouldn’t change anything about this show. It was really fantastic!
My overall impression
From start to finish, this show was beautifully executed – the set, the story, the performance – everything. I would highly recommend this show!
