The show was brave, thought-provoking, and graceful. Ruth is captivating on stage. The theatre size, effects, and lights were a perfect fit for her show.
What I didn't like
Ruth was stopped with about five minutes left in her show. The manner in which the theatre employee interrupted her show and did not allow for any closure to the show was unbelievably rude. The theatre should have taken responsibility for the error in timing, and they could have at least allowed her a moment to speak to the audience or finish the show somehow. I was shocked by the way they went about it and disappointed in the lack of respect for the artist.
My overall impression
This incident altered my view of this theatre drastically. In a festival that is intended to foster and flaunt independent arts, this theatre robbed her of finishing that experience.
