I laughed. I smiled. I nodded my head in agreement. I felt a bit wistful. It’s not often that a play at the Hollywood Fringe Festival brings so much joy and meaning to a 50 minute production, but “I do. Do you?” does just that. It’s the backstory of the players in a wedding. Standout performances from Laura Lanoil (mother of the bride) a confused and funny married woman finding her voice after many years of marriage; best man, Patrick Frey, who finds the humor and humanity in his quest to calm things down as he stirs things up; wedding planner, Jodi Adler, who slyly shades her comic performance as she shares her wedding tips with the audience, and Delilah Kujala as the photographer who comically rants about women’s issues. Another “must see” show at HFF17.
What I didn't like
Almost couldn’t find theater. A bit stuffy inside.
