What I didn't like
My only thing I can offer as an improvement would be to keep the music going during all the scene transitions. The composer, Brandon Bolte, wrote this gorgeous score (seriously so moving) and I would’ve liked to hear it continue during some of the silent blackouts. A small thing, but I just couldn’t get enough of the music!
My overall impression
A stunning, beautiful piece that is absolutely captivating and brilliant. I fell in love right away once the dancing began, the hauntingly beautiful choreography gives the whole piece life. As the show continues and the thread of the dancers weaves in and out there is a movement and energy to the show that feels like waves or vibrations, it is hypnotic. I can’t say enough amazing things about the dancers in this show! This play by Amanda Newman really dives into exploring relationships and what having a soulmate means. Each of the actors truly explores their characters and brings them to life. If you can catch Stringmates during Fringe, DO IT!!!
